Devoted fans of the actress are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and touched the performer during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A viral clip depicts the individual from Australia shoving aside media personnel and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though court documents showed that he was due to attend court on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a performance. His Instagram profile contains videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last winter.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Express Concern Over Grande's Well-being

Many followers accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her 2017 concert in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" wrote one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested online networks to block Mr Wen's uploads.

Response and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Hundreds of supporters had gathered in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore venue, including some who had waited for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed stage show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely bond between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a spin-off of the twentieth-century children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sequin dress at the event while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a elegant ensemble featuring roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten Oscar nominations, earning several for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
