Thousands Lost Power in Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Storms
Nearly 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast woke up without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, producing strong winds hitting 109km/h.
Substantial Hailstones and Broad Destruction
Residents witnessed large ice chunks measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews deployed to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also experienced energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled over five hundred emergency reports across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for downed trees and inundation.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the existing atmospheric conditions.
