English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Star of the Year award.

These three athletes have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.

The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to Euro 2025 glory.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.

Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Subsequently, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.

"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

Littler's Profile

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.

He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.

He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another incredible 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a premier tournament.

Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
