Ways the Broncos together with their flexible QB could halt the Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary can be heard on select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week in the NFL season , after last week's discussion regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable in those games was the amount of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times meaning they kind of beat themselves having led 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

But it was positive to observe how Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the game by four points.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with CB Pat Surtain II. They are number one in red zone defence, while Philadelphia are number one in scoring near the end zone, and the Broncos won that battle.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers but they could plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this season's underdog story?

New TE their tight end has excelled big and recent RB their rusher is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" prominently on his call sheet.

That shows that the Broncos represent a squad that wants to prioritize the run, because you can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in positive down and distances.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw all over, however they lack in the same way as Nix. He boasts incredible passing ability, a unique trait, and he is so athletic.

His assets include his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as finding varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of composure under pressure and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the defence to be in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area downfield and horizontally. This proves draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think Payton appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for him to coach a rookie QB that is similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. I think the success the Broncos are having offensively is largely down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps shape him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to face a top squad at full strength? Since that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are incredible. They're working better than most, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do to continue this path.

They're really good at embracing their strength, that is running the ball, and this is exactly what they must do against the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet since the Broncos {beat|def
